I don't about the Titans pick either!??? Chris Johnson is fast as hell! They said he ran a 4.24 40.

Maybe the drafted him of a solid back up to lendale or a solid kr or pr

Re: THE OFFICAL 2008 NFL DRAFT

    From ESPN Scouts Insider:

    " 24. Tennessee Titans
The pick: Chris Johnson, RB, East Carolina
What he brings: This is a reach in our opinion. At 197 pounds, there are concerns about Johnson's ability to take the kind of pounding NFL running backs endure. He's also not a great between the tackles and has had fumble issues. His biggest strengths are his speed and versatility; Johnson can line up in the backfield or motion out to the slot. His rare speed (4.24) makes him a home run threat regardless of where he lines up. Johnson can also make an impact in the kickoff return game.
How he fits: The Titans have invested second-round picks on LenDale White and Chris Henry the last two years so this makes no sense. However, head coach Jeff Fisher places a heavy emphasis on the running game to protect QB Vince Young, but Young would have been helped by getting a true No. 1 receiver. This pick might be a result of Mike Heimerdinger's new offensive scheme as Johnson does give them an upgrade in the return game and he is flexible on offense. Johnson reminds us a lot of Henry, which makes this pick even more perplexing. "
"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"

I still think Tennessee needs a true number 1 wide out! But Chris Johnson might be a great change of pace with lendale!

VT has had a good day, better than I expected

Duane Brown, Brandon Flowers and Eddie Royal all selected in the first 50 picks

maybe Xavier Adibi will get picked up soon to make it 4, otherwise VT is prob done for the day...but will wind up with 8-9 total

Re: THE OFFICAL 2008 NFL DRAFT

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher commented on his team's first round choice of Chris Johnson. "We're very, very impressed with he, in particular, as a person. He's a very, very talented football player. He's versatile, he's got great speed and great hands. His numbers are exceptional at East Carolina and we're going to plug him in wherever and whenever we can because we know he's a playmaker. He has world-class, difference-making speed, which is something we need offensively, so we're very excited to place Chris in the offense."

Brohm to Green Bay is interesting. Nice pickup at pick 56, IMO.

Re: THE OFFICAL 2008 NFL DRAFT

Dude I hate Tennessee this time of the year! Jason freakin Jones!!!! Blah!!!!

With the 54th pick of the 2008 NFL, the Tennessee Titans selected Jason Jones, DE, Eastern Michigan.

NFL.com: Lacks ideal bulk and has just adequate quickness, but displays excellent arm length to keep blockers away from his body...Lacks explosiveness off the snap, but has the functional speed to get into the gaps to disrupt the plays...When he keeps his hands active, he has good success in attaining leverage over the blocker and his long arms allow him to stack opponents at the line...

If Beck struggles early, you may see Henne.

Re: THE OFFICAL 2008 NFL DRAFT

some thoughts on the first round

first off i dont remember this many trades going down

more OT drafted in the first round than i ever remember

no WRs for only the second time

it seems that the theme this year is drafting need and not the best player on the board with an emphasis on the OL and defense

the jets are still the dumbest franchise ever

    trade up for a 6'2 240lb TE

    mistake
